Former Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
